I found a new love for gourds in January 2003 and it seems like it will go on for a while. It quickly became a very important part of my life. Yikes! nobody told me it was addictive! :0) You're welcome to browse around and take a look at my creations. Most of the designs I work with are tropical/ island designs; leaves, flowers, turtles and fish. I do use some other designs occcasionally, thanks to the people who ask me to try. I am open to any design and always willing to learn.
I am very grateful and honored to be given the opportunity to work with gourds, which is a part of the Hawai'ian culture.
"Is it functional?" or "But I'm looking for something functional". That's a question I often hear. Most gourds ARE functional with little help such as plastic or glass liners. Gourds have been used as functional containers for centuries. They are certainly a precious gift from nature.
